We
welcome young children in our reading program. Parents can read aloud
books and kids can pick up a sticker
every time they visit the Library. Kids that complete their reading log
with all five stickers
will receive a free book at the end of the summer.
We especially encourage young
readers to visit the Library and practice their reading skills over the
summer.
Kids in grades K-5 can join our "Bug
Club" program on Friday mornings at 11 a.m.
School-age kids can also get a sticker on their reading log for each visit
to the Library, and
receive a free book at the end of the summer.
Teenagers in grades 6 - 12
can win prizes by turning in short book reviews for each book they read
this summer.
Prizes from local businesses are chosen each week. Teens can also volunteer
at the Library over the summer.
Why should
kids have all the fun? Adults can pick up a reading log at the Information
Desk and read six books
to enter a drawing for prizes. It's a great model for kids to see adults
reading for fun in the summer too!
