A Southerner and army brat who moved to Bozeman from Limoges, France, Scott received his B.A. in History with a minor in German from Huntingdon College in Montgomery AL in 2000, and worked for six years at the Evans Library of the Florida Institute of Technology. He is a history geek and former Cavalry trooper whose interests include spending time with his family, genealogy, cooking, tai chi, calligraphy, music, and the outdoors.
