Sculpture Park Lecture

Complete Calendar of Events

The Bozeman Sculpture Park Lecture Series Continues with Trey Hill on Wednesday evening, February 20 at 7:00 pm. Hill’s talk will focus on his sculpture “The Day You Weren’t There.” This composite sculpture is constructed from ceramic, concrete and epoxy materials, and visually suggests both biological and architectural forms. Hill’s contemporary piece merges images of the branches of a pruned tree, a human leg, and geometric shapes. The piece “deals with tree images and the idea of trimming them and controlling them for aesthetic purposes,” explains Curator Brad Allen.
Trey Hill is a professional sculptor and currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Ceramics at the University of Montana in Missoula. Hill’s sculpture has been featured in numerous galleries throughout the U.S. and was also juried into the Korean Biennale at the World Ceramic Center (2007).
All BSP lectures are held in the Library’s Community from 7-9pm, followed by a reception for the artist. The BSP series is free and all are welcome. Tours of the park are available by contacting BSP at info@bozeman sculpture park.org. For further information visit www.bozeman sculpturepark.org.
