At BPL we love to celebrate the written word, and in April we will be celebrating National Poetry Month all month long! From poetry scavenger hunts to a workshop on writing poetry, we have a lot of ways for you to get involved!

We've also created Poetry Month Reading Lists for you to get started on your celebration this April!

  • Blackout Poetry: We'll provide a page of text, you use a marker to create a poem by eliminating words
  • Crafternoon: Journal Making: Wednesday, April 18th, 2:00 PM. Make your own poetry journal from an old book
  • Poetry Workshop: Friday, April 27th, 4:00 PM- Details TBD

In The Community:

  • Poetry Scavenger Hunt: We'll be hiding a poem around town every Tuesday in April. Check our social media (on Facebook @BozemanPublicLibrary and Instagram @BozemanLibrary) for clues! When you find a poem, post a picture and tag us to win a prize!
  • Where The Sidewalk Ends: Stop by the library and get a box of chalk, then display your favorite poem on our front sidewalk, on the path near the library, or another piece of concrete. Take a picture and tag us (on Facebook @BozemanPublicLibrary and Instagram @BozemanLibrary) to share your creativity!
