Parents and caregivers: Do you want to learn the seven skills every child needs to succeed in life? You can attend free sessions at the Library that will focus on specific areas of child development and learning, based on the research described in Ellen Galinsky’s book Mind in the Making.

Sessions will be held on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM in the Community Room on January 15, January 29, February 12, and February 26. Presenters include children’s librarians and childcare professionals who attended a three-day intensive training on the seven essential life skills. Please register using this link. Free childcare will be provided, but parents must register. Call the Children’s Desk at 582-2404 for more information.

What is Children’s Choices?

Children’s Choices is a trusted source for book recommendations. Each year, children from different regions of the United States read and rate recently-published books. These may then become finalists in the Children’s Choices Book Awards. This project is co-sponsored by the Children’s Book Council (CBC) and the International Literacy Association (ILA).

How do you sign up?

Come to the Bozeman Public Library Children’s Desk to sign up and choose your first book to read and rate. These books must be checked out with a children’s librarian, as they check out separately than other library books.

Remember: The most important part is VOTING after you read.

VOTE here using the RED number found inside the front cover of the book.

How many books can you read and rate?
